C.R.I. Pumps and Coimbatore District Basketball Association has been successfully conducting the All India Basketball Tournament for Women for the past 15 years. The country's leading basketball teams take pride in joining this prestigious tournament.
This year, these tournaments are scheduled from 26th May to 31st May 2017. Eight leading teams of the country have been selected for the women's tournament and they include (Pool A) South Central Railway - Secunderabad, Southern Railway - Chennai, Eastern Railway - Kolkata & Arise Steel - Chennai and (Pool B) KSEB - Thiruvananthapuram, Chhattisgarh State - Bilaspur, North Frontier Railway – Guwahati and Coimbatore District Basketball Association (CDBA), Coimbatore.
The winning teams will be awarded cash prize as follows
WOMEN
- Winner Rs 50,000 & C.R.I. Pumps Trophy
- Runners Rs 25,000 & Trophy
- Second Runner Rs 10,000 each
- Best Promising player award
The All India Tournament Women will begin on the evening of 26th May 2017. The teams will play on league basis till 29th May 2017. The Semi-Finals & Finals will be on 30th May 2017 and 31st May 2017 respectively .All the matches will be conducted at V.O.C. Park Basket Ball Court.
Dr. K. Vijayakarthikeyan, IAS, Commissioner and Special Officer, Coimbatore Corporation will be the chief guest, Mr.V.V.R Raj Satyen, President – Tamilnadu Basket Ball Association has kindly consented to be the Guest of Honour, Dr. M. Manickam – Chairman, Sakthi Group of Companies will be the other Guest of Honour. Mr.G.Selvaraj, President, Coimbatore District Basketball Association, Joint Managing Director of C.R.I.Pumps heads the co-ordination of the event.
